VP, International EST Development
Brandon DiMassa is VP of International EST development at NBCUniversal based in London. During his 18 years in media he has been with companies at the centre of changing habits in content consumption from the old fashioned Electronic Program Guide through navigating today’s digital and OTT alternatives. His current role is to champion the EST category broadly and to accelerate growth in digital ownership of the company’s film and TV content. He is driving this through increasing the number of retailers (Pay TV operators, physical and OTT retailers) offering the ability to buy digitally and through innovation of the user experience when watching purchased content. Prior to joining NBCU, Brandon was responsible for launching Entertainment initiatives on Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 27 EMEA Markets, including bringing brands such as Sky, BBC and Netflix to the platform.
Before moving to London to join Microsoft, Brandon was a key leader in the transformation of TV Guide Digital (formerly part of Rovi, now part of CBS Interactive) from a marketing arm of an iconic but declining print magazine to an independent and profitable digital business with over 20MM unique users and 10MM app downloads. Prior to joining the corporate media world, Brandon spent 6 years as an Equity Research Analyst covering U.S., Latin American and European Pay TV and Broadcasting for several Investment banks both in the U.S and UK.
Brandon was born and raised in Los Angeles but now lives in Oxfordshire with his wife and 3 kids (who are now speaking with British accents and making fun of their dad’s American twang). When he’s not watching his kids play football or policing their Xbox time playing Fifa and Minecraft, Brandon spends way too much time watching sport, binge watching TV on a variety of services….and reading The Economist each and every week.
